Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG) is to begin a series of refurbishment works at a popular shopping centre in Walsall.
The group’s Fall Arrest Testing division has been contracted to deliver the works at Saddlers Shopping Centre and is due to start on site at the end of August.
Paul Evans, divisional director at PTSG, said: “The works are largely refurbishments of existing facilities at Saddlers Shoppping Centre, including access ladders and edge protection on the roof.
“We have also been asked to reinstate the mansafe systems that provide safe access to the atrium areas.
“The shopping centre is a busy attraction and the works will be carried out in such a way as to limit the impact on both visitors and staff.”
Saddlers Shopping Centre, which takes its name from the town’s saddle manufacturing heritage, is spread over two floors with access to the top floor from Park Street, the town’s main shopping area, while the lower floor is accessible from Bridge Street, next to Bradford Place Bus Station.
The top floor of the complex is home to Walsall railway station. Also attached to the centre is a three-storey car park.
Almost 250,000 visit the centre each week.
