Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG) has produced its most detailed design to date in order to deliver a programme of works for Tube Lines on the London Underground.
PTSG has been contracted to install a lifting frame complete with winch and basket at Tooting Broadway as well as carrying out a beam test at Canning Town.
The Tooting contract is part of a whole site conversion at the site.
Scott Hawtrey, divisional director at PTSG, said: “The project seems quite simple, however this is for Tube Lines and the assurance process is very complicated. The design we have completed is probably the most detailed design produced by PTSG.
“Looking at the drawing the project looks very complicated but the facts are the whole design and installation is actually to carry a 7Kg box from high level to low level.
“The design itself has taken 10 days and the other documentation i.e. the TFL forms 18 in total have taken another three days.”
The installation will take two days to complete for two workers.
Tube Lines maintain, renew and upgrade more than 320km of track, 254 points and crossings, 255 trains, 100 stations, 4,314 bridges and structures, 80km of embankments and cuttings, 231 escalators and 110 lifts, focusing on the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines – works which equate to 41 per cent of the entire Tube network.
