Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has successfully carried out a high level cleaning and limescale removal project at the Broadway Chambers development in East London.
Broadway Chambers is a luxury 39-storey residential development in Stratford, an area which is seeing huge growth after being home to the Olympics in 2012. The tower offers great views towards the City of London and Canary Wharf, over the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Westfield Stratford City.
PTSG’s high-level cleaning team carried out a full clean to the building’s external façade, including windows, frames and feature cladding. This interim clean has been carried out to prevent a build-up of limescale on the glass and façade finishes, which will help preserve the building’s appearance and structural integrity. In future, the building will be able to undergo more general cleans using a building maintenance unit (BMU).
The Group’s High Level Cleaning division worked together to create a temporary rig which rope access teams could use to clean the face of the building without interfering with the non-load-bearing cladding shelf. A series of anchor points were also installed to allow abseilers to reach even the most difficult-to-reach elements of the façade when performing the clean.
PTSG’s rope access teams work on a variety of projects providing access solutions to clients in a wide range of sectors. The Group regularly works on prestigious residential developments in London, using rope access as a more cost-effective and time-efficient alternative to other access methods.
