Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG) is set to deliver essential works at Brighton’s Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital.
The group’s South Suspended Access division has a strong working relationship with the hospital having delivered maintenance works at the site since 2007.
These latest works, which include the weld of a bracket and the moving of a limit switch, come on the back of a scheduled insurance inspection – PTSG is contracted to deliver quarterly attendances to carryout maintenance works on the internal gantry and cradle as well as works on the external gantry and hoist.
Scott Hawtrey, divisional director at PTSG, said: “We hold a fantastic working relationship with Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and we are delighted to be associated with a facility that provides such essential services to children and young people.
“The latest works were brought about following a routine insurance inspection, an action we are contracted to carry out quarterly. Although these will be relatively straightforward to deliver, care must be taken as to not disrupt the day-to-day operations of the hospital – something our team has excelled at over the last seven years.”
The hospital, commonly known as The Alex, is dedicated to delivering the highest quality of medical and nursing care for children and young people.
It has 100 beds in single rooms and spacious four-bed bays, all with en-suite bathrooms. This includes eight high dependency beds, three paediatric intensive care beds, a day care oncology ward and a day care ward for medicine and surgery.
Its paediatric facilities include three operating theatres, 15 outpatient consulting rooms, and an on-site x-ray department, and provides inpatient facilities, including intensive care, and outpatient care for children to the whole of the South East, including the Isle of Wight.
The new building was opened in 2007, the same year PTSG secured the maintenance contract, by the hospital’s patron, her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra.
Since opening, the state-of-the-art facility has won an international design award and continues to offer pioneering paediatric care.
