Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has secured a further Access & Safety contract with established client Historic Scotland.

The Group’s fall arrest engineers will attend Glasgow Cathedral, where they will install PVC walkways along the building’s copper gutters around the roof edge. The structure itself is the oldest cathedral in mainland Scotland and the oldest building in Glasgow.

PTSG’s partnership with Historic Scotland began in 2016, when it was contracted to carry out annual testing of lightning protection systems at 37 properties across the country as well as any remedial works needed. This helps to safeguard the future of some of Scotland’s most iconic buildings. As with many of the Group’s contracts, it has been extended to include further niche services, including this new project at Glasgow Cathedral. Earlier this year, PTSG and Historic Scotland were shortlisted together for a top PFM industry award for their work at Stirling Castle and at the bridge in the town.

PTSG’s Access & Safety division is the longest-established of its four divisions and its engineers have vast experience of working with historic buildings as well as buildings from a wide range of sectors. The Group’s other three discrete but complementary divisions are Electrical Services, Building Access Specialists and Fire Solutions.
