Message from CEO – Issue thirty-eight

A very happy new year to you all and welcome to the first Inside PTSG of 2019 – bringing you some of the recent news and updates from around our business.

2018 saw another solid 12 months for PTSG and we reflect on the year in the Insight section of this newsletter. Thank you to you all of our customers, supply chain partners and our people for your support as we approach our 13th year in business.

We are pleased with the ongoing performance of all four of our divisions – Access and Safety, Electrical Services, Building Access Specialists and Fire Solutions – all of which continue to go from strength to strength.

As you can see from our Group News, all four divisions have been very busy with new and repeat contracts. Integral Cradles, our team in London and the south, rightly received publicity for its recent award-winning work to design and install two huge building maintenance units at The Scalpel in London. Equally high-quality, but perhaps less high-profile work, is performed by our operatives all over the UK and credit must go to the entire team. In many ways, they are the industry’s unsung heroes – they go about their work quietly and conscientiously but without them, buildings and national infrastructure of all kinds simply couldn’t function.

Finally, I am delighted to receive news that the Group has made the shortlist for the CN Specialist Awards in the FM Specialist of the Year category – a great achievement in a very competitive field.

Thank you to our customers for entrusting us with your work and for recognising that our team continues to uphold the high standards of workmanship and safety which, we know, are integral to your success. As ever, if you have any feedback on any related matters, we would be very interested to hear from you. In the meantime, I wish you a very happy, healthy and successful new year.

Message from CEO – Issue thirty-seven

A very warm welcome to the December issue of Inside PTSG – bringing you all the latest news and updates from around our business.

I am delighted to inform you that we won two awards at this year’s Premises and Facilities Management Annual Dinner on 07 November 2018 for our cradle installation work at the Scalpel with Skanska and for our proprietary software system, Clarity. I am really pleased for the Clarity team, who have taken our vision for a unique software system that would improve the service we deliver for our customers, and created something truly unique – indeed truly world-class. This rounds off a year which has seen the Group win big at the BIFM Awards and the Corporate LiveWire Innovation & Excellence Awards, as well as receiving another RoSPA Gold Award and our second Gold Medal. This underlines our continued commitment to the highest standards of safety – our philosophy being that if it can’t be done safely, we don’t do it.

We are progressing well with the integration of our fire safety businesses and we are pleased that our wet and dry riser services, sprinkler systems and other fire suppression solution are in easy reach of any organisation looking for install or maintenance work right across the UK. We were awarded contracts to install sprinkler systems at London Trocadero and Devons Road Railway Station in East London, as well as a new residential building adjacent to Wembley stadium – rumoured to be one of Europe’s biggest regeneration projects.

This issue’s ‘Insight’ feature focuses on our Fire Solutions business and the impact it has made since it became a division of PTSG in its own right in 2017.

I am extremely pleased with the performance and progress of all four of PTSG’s divisions in 2018 and some of the highlights can be seen in our monthly news roundup.

As always, if you have any feedback on this issue or any other matters, I would be interested to hear from you. Thank you for reading and here’s to another successful year-end. May I take this opportunity to wish you a happy and peaceful Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Best wishes

Hello and welcome to the November edition of Inside PTSG –bringing you all the latest news and updates from around our business.

The PTSG group of companies grew once again this month with the acquisition of Guardian Electrical Compliance, a market leading electrical compliance and testing company based in Sheffield.

This move substantially enhances our leading position in Electrical Services, particularly with regards to compliance-related services that now stand at record levels.

I am delighted to welcome the Guardian team to the Group and look forward to the benefits this acquisition is sure to bring to both PTSG and Guardian.

At the beginning of October we were delighted to see many of our clients and suppliers at this year’s BIFM Awards ceremony, which is always a great opportunity to catch up and celebrate the best in FM.

We had a particular reason to celebrate this year after being awarded the top prize in the Innovation in Professional Development category for our work to build and support a highly skilled workforce through significant investments in training and development.

In other award news, we have recently been shortlisted for a Variety Yorkshire Business Award in the SME of the Year category. This is one of the region’s top business awards and so it is an honour to have been nominated.

Be sure to check the PTSG website for updates on all of our award nominations and other good news from across the company.

As ever, I hope you enjoy this month’s Inside PTSG and if you would like to see anything included in future editions please get in touch.

Hello and welcome to the October edition of Inside PTSG –bringing you all the latest news and updates from around our business.

The first half of 2018 has been whirlwind for PTSG as we continue to reap the rewards from our recent acquisitions. This success was summarised in our recently published interim results, once again revealing record levels of growth that I am confident will continue throughout the rest of the year.

You can read more about our interim results in this issue’s ‘Insight’ feature.

In other news, I am delighted to announce that PTSG has been shortlisted in two categories in the Yorkshire Post’s Excellence in Business Awards 2018.

We have once again been shortlisted in the ‘Turnover of more than £50m’ category, after being shortlisted in the same category last year. We have also been shortlisted for the ‘Apprenticeships’ award, recognising our £1m investment in training and supporting dozens of apprentices that have come through our doors in their engineering careers.

In the announcement of this year’s shortlist, the organisers revealed that the standard of entries was exceptionally high. I would like to extend my thanks to the team for their outstanding work over the last year – without their efforts we would not be able to provide such an effective, award-winning service.

As always, if you have any feedback on this issue or any other matters, I would be interested to hear from you. Thank you for reading and here’s to another successful month.

Best wishes

Hello and welcome to the latest edition of Inside PTSG, the place to read about all the latest news from across PTSG’s four dedicated divisions.

We’ve had yet more reasons to celebrate at PTSG this month. We were named as a winner in the Corporate LiveWire Innovation & Excellence Awards 2018 thanks to the outstanding service we provide to our customers, with a particular commendation for of offering a variety of specialist services under one roof.

This approach saves PTSG’s clients time and money by allowing them to rely on one trusted supplier for access and safety, electrical services, specialist building access and fire solutions.

There is strong evidence of the success of this approach in our order book this month, with a good flow of significant multidisciplinary works underway, including Suffolk County Council’s Vertas Group Limited and Nottingham City Hospital for the NHS.

This month we were also featured on the cover of PFM Magazine, focusing on the Group’s rapidly growing Fire Services division – in particular the provision of sprinkler systems. Our Fire Solutions division has been extremely busy so far this year and has recently been contracted to support Interserve’s fire services provision, an organisation we have partnered with for several years.

Be sure to check the PTSG website for more news on the work our team is carrying out. As ever, I hope you enjoy this month’s Inside PTSG and if you would like to see anything included in future editions please get in touch.

Message from CEO – Issue thirty-three

Hello and welcome to the August edition of Inside PTSG, the source of all the latest news from across our four business divisions.

In July we announced the acquisition of M&P Fire Protection Ltd, our 24th acquisition. This acquisition extends the service offering of our Fire Solutions division and strengthens our geographical coverage within the fire protection sector, particularly in London and the South East.

The team and I are looking forward to working with M&P Fire Protection Ltd. to continue our successful strategy of achieving market leadership across the sectors in which we operate.

This month we were also delighted to have been named in two further award announcements. The first of these came in the form of a finalist announcement for this year’s British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) Awards.

PTSG is a finalist in the Innovation in Professional Development category, where it was shortlisted for demonstrating how its investment in people has benefitted the business and the wider industry. This is one of the industry’s leading awards and it is a great honour to have reached this stage.

Next, the divisional director of our Electrical Services division, Craig Finney, has been named as a finalist in the Account Director of the Year category in this year’s PFM Awards. During his directorship Craig has overseen impressive growth of the Electrical Services division and has helped to strengthen PTSG’s reputation in the industry through active participation in professional institutions such as ATLAS.

This is the Group’s fourth nomination in this year’s PFM awards, following shortlistings in the Partners in Cleaning, Partners in Facilities Technology and Partners in Corporate (Private Sector) categories. Good luck, Craig!

I hope you enjoy this month’s Inside PTSG and if you would like to see anything included in future editions please get in touch.

Message from CEO – Issue thirty-two

Hello and welcome to the July edition of Inside PTSG, the source of all the latest news from across our four business divisions.

June marked the anniversary of the Grenfell disaster, highlighting the vital importance of reliable safety systems for all buildings of this kind. This was made even clearer when another fire broke out in a Lewisham tower block exactly one year after the disaster. Although around 150 people were evacuated from the building upon being alerted, the fire was effectively suppressed by a PTSG-installed sprinkler system, allowing the London fire brigade to bring the fire under control.

Also in June, a domestic property in East Dumbartonshire was engulfed in flames following a lightning strike to the house’s roof. Fortunately, no one was harmed, but the house has suffered considerable damage. This highlights another vital area of PTSG’s service – lightning protection. We are the UK’s leading provider of LP installation, testing and inspection, with offices throughout the country. We are proud that the work we do save lives and prevents buildings from suffering this kind of damage.

Several members of PTSG’s team have been attending industry shows and supplier events this month, notably the Facilities Show. It is always good to take advantage of opportunities like these to catch up with suppliers and other leaders in the FM industry, and highlights the benefits to be had from meeting clients face to face, rather than just over the phone. We are sponsoring TWinFM’s annual boat party this month and I look forward to catching up with many of you there too.

I hope you enjoy this month’s Inside PTSG and if you would like to see anything included in future editions please get in touch.

Message from CEO – Issue thirty-one

Hello and welcome to the June edition of Inside PTSG, providing you with updates and all of the latest news from across PTSG’s four dedicated divisions.

We have started this month with the very good news that we have been shortlisted for four major industry awards!

The first of these is the BIFM awards, where we have been shortlisted in the Innovation in Professional Development category. This is an event the PTSG team always looks forward to, and 2018 will be our fifth year as one of the event’s main sponsors.

Last week we also learnt that we have been shortlisted in three partnership categories in the PFM awards: Partners in Cleaning, Partners in Corporate (Private Sector) and Partners in Facilities Technology. We have a long history of success at the PFM awards, and this will be our seventh year on the shortlist.

Congratulations to all of the other businesses that have made the short list, and I look forward to celebrating with you all at the awards ceremonies later this year.

As I’m sure you well know, there is nothing we at PTSG regard as more important than safety. As a result of this, we received our second RoSPA Gold Medal in June, following seven consecutive gold awards. This is an outstanding achievement, and I’d like to thank the team for all their hard work to make sure they and their colleagues get home safely every day.

As ever, I hope you enjoy this issue of Inside PTSG. Read on to learn about some of the exciting projects we have been working on this month, as well as gaining an insight into our training services. If you have any suggestions for what you’d like to see in the next edition, we’d love to hear from you.

Hello and welcome to the latest edition of Inside PTSG, the place to read about all the latest news from across PTSG’s four dedicated divisions.

April was a busy month for the Group as we continued to strengthen our presence across our key market sectors, working on a host of high-profile projects across the country. This continued growth saw our position on the UK stock exchange featured in two national articles in the UK press last month, with The Daily Telegraph’s Richard Evans and Sharewatch’s Smit Berry both offering interesting insights into our market position. You can read about both articles and much more in the news section of our website.

Last month also saw the London Assembly’s Planning Committee publish a report calling for mandatory sprinkler installations in all new-build residential developments above 18 metres in height. As a business we fully support these recommendations and believe all residential and public-use buildings should have dependable fire safety systems available. I believe our trusted fire solutions offering can and will play a leading role in maintaining safety in the industry for years to come. We remain on standby with teams around the country to deploy as necessary and will embrace any future changes in regulation.

Look out for other news on the PTSG website including plenty of exciting contract wins and our pledge to support the Mitie Charity Ball for the fifth consecutive year. The ball is a fantastic fundraising event which raises money towards some great causes and as an FM partner to Mitie we are always happy to support it in any way possible.

I hope you enjoy this month’s Inside PTSG and if you would like to see anything included in future editions please get in touch.

Message from CEO – Issue twentynine

Hello and welcome to the April edition of Inside PTSG, where we will keep you updated with all of the latest news from across PTSG’s four dedicated divisions.

Last month we were delighted to learn that we had been awarded first place in the Tomorrow’s FM Awards 2018, for our bespoke all-in-one software system, PTSG Clarity. The win caps off a fantastic start to 2018, which also marks the beginning of our second decade of operation. Award wins are hugely important to me as I believe they provide recognition of excellent performance, and it is particularly satisfying for PTSG to be named as a winner in the Tomorrow’s FM Awards, which saw us finish top of 50 different finalists from across the industry. I’d like to give a special mention to our dedicated team of developers, without whom this win would not have been possible.

We always pride ourselves on leading the industry in innovation, whether through outstanding customer service or unique working practices. It is this approach which has helped us enjoy the fantastic growth we have in recent years and we are looking forward to further success in the coming years through our forward-thinking approach. Our goal for this year is to take our service provision to the next level, exploring as many new opportunities as possible, while continuing to deliver the outstanding customer service we have built our reputation on. If we continue to do this, I have no doubt that further recognition will follow.

Look out for the latest news updates on our website, including a host of exciting new contract wins and the announcement that we have received an International Safety Award from the British Safety Council for our ongoing commitment to safety in the workplace, an outstanding achievement which emphasises our tireless dedication to making safety the number one priority in all we do.

I hope you enjoy this edition of Inside PTSG and as always, if there’s anything you would like to see included in future editions please do get in touch.
