Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has recently completed the testing of dry and wet riser systems and fire hydrants for Wandsworth Council’s high-rise properties as part of a fixed five-year contract.
The Group’s electrical services division serviced 127 high-rise flats in Wandsworth, ensuring the fire-suppression systems were fit for use and compliant with the latest BS9990 2015 standards.
The contract is the latest in a long list of work to be completed in the capital by the division, following recent lighting protection works carried out at Chelsea Island in Fulham and the London Fruit and Wool Exchange in Spitalfields.
PTSG is currently carrying out dry and wet riser system testing for three other London borough councils: Hackney, Hammersmith, Fulham and Enfield. The Group is now recognised as the largest wet and dry riser specialist installer in the UK.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has agreed a renewed contract with Stockport Homes which will see the business carry out the testing of dry and wet riser systems and fire hydrants at social housing in Stockport for the next three years.
Stockport Homes was formed in 2005 to manage housing stock across the town on behalf of Stockport Council. The organisation will be creating 421 new affordable homes across the borough in the next five years.
PTSG’s electrical services division currently services 25 sites within this contract, consisting of council housing and high rise flats, to ensure their fire-suppression systems are fit for purpose. The contract extension means that the Group’s skilled dry risers team will carry out these services until 2020.
PTSG’s electrical services division provides planned maintenance to fire-suppression systems with national coverage by specialist engineers using specially-adapted testing vehicles. Wet riser and fire hydrant testing and commissioning is carried out in accordance with BS9990 2015 standards to ensure that work is always carried out to the highest quality.

Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has been awarded a lightning protection contract at the former home of the BBC motoring show, Top Gear.
Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey was originally commanded by the Royal Canadian Air Force between 1942 and 1944, and in the post-war period was used by British Aerospace. More recently, the site was home to Top Gear, who used the hangar as a studio and parts of the runways of the aerodrome for the test track used in segments such as ‘star in a reasonably-priced car’.
The site also features a business park which is home to an ever-growing number of companies. As a result of this, six new business units are under construction, and PTSG has been called in to install lightning protection systems to ensure the safety of all site users in particularly bad weather.
PTSG is no stranger to carrying out niche specialist services at star-studded locations. As the end of last year the team carried out a lightning protection installation project at the world-famous Pinewood Film Studios, which has been the home of the James Bond films since 1962.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC’s (PTSG) electrical services division will soon dispatch a team of expert lightning protection engineers to a new housing development in Kent.
The St. Clements Lakes development is entering its second phase, and as a result, PTSG will install lightning protection to six brand-new houses. The site, located in Greenhithe, features a range of two-bedroom apartments and three- and four-bedroom houses in a lakeside setting, and boasts some impressive nearby amenities, such as Bluewater Shopping Centre and Ebbsfleet International railway station.
All systems will comply the BSEN 62305 standard, and will protect the luxury houses and their residents in a lightning storm, ensuring that lightning strikes are safely absorbed by the earth.
PTSG has carried out similar works at a significant number of large housing developments throughout the country, working in collaboration with its clients’ construction teams to ensure that all works are completed efficiently without disrupting any other work on site.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has won a contract to install lightning protection systems to the first phase of a brand new housing development in the London Borough of Hillingdon.
These initial works will see the Group’s electrical services division installing lightning protection systems to three buildings in the 2.5-acre Tavistock Gardens development in Yiewsley. The team will make it their priority to ensure that all works are carried out to PTSG’s usual high standard, ensuring the safety of site users both during construction and once these buildings have been completed.
When it is finished, the scheme will provide 309 residential units with a mix of private and affordable homes in a series of one-, two- and three-bedroom units. The site is in an excellent position, close to West Drayton railway station, which will soon see significant growth as it forms part of the new Crossrail network in 2018.
