The finalists for this year’s BIFM awards have been announced, with Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) featuring in two categories.
The Group is a contender for the Brand Impact and Impact on Customer Experience awards, highlighting the success of our brand values and customer engagement, among a number of other business strengths.
BIFM’s finalists announcement comes hot on the heels of the news that PTSG is also a finalist in five categories at the PFM awards, for its work in with companies in retail, expert services, healthcare and SME organisations.
The ceremony for the BIFM awards is a highlight of the FM calendar, and attracts over 1,200 industry professionals. It will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, London, on 10th October 2016.

Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has completed a new lightning protection system to the One New Street Square development in the heart of the City of London.
The £177m development is comprised of around 256,000 square feet of office space, with additional leisure and retail facilities spread over its 20 storeys. The upper floors of the building include features such as external terraces, from which tenants can enjoy views of the magnificent London skyline.
The Group’s engineers installed the lightning protection to the BS EN standard, ensuring the safety of all PTSG engineers on site, and the effectiveness of the system in the future.

Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has supplied a number of access and safety solutions to a brand new student accommodation building in Glasgow.
The Group’s access and safety division installed mansafe systems and walkways totalling over 300m, and 116 abseil posts to the 10-storey building, which will allow for its safe and easy maintenance.
The building, one of Vita Student’s luxury student accommodation schemes, is located on Beith Street, and will house both UK and international students attending any of Glasgow’s three universities.
As well as the design and installation of permanently installed façade access equipment of this kind, PTSG offers maintenance, inspection and testing solutions for safety at height, and has teams located nationwide to provide access and safety services whenever and wherever they are required.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has carried out a series of installation works providing lightning protection to the Stratosphere development in London.
PTSG’s skilled operatives worked to a tight schedule on this project to ensure that works were successfully completed on time in order to allow the project to move to the next building phase, readying it for completion early next year.
The mixed-use development is home to 307 apartments, and is located in the heart of Stratford overlooking the Olympic Park. The area has seen a huge increase in investment since hosting the Olympics in 2012, and new apartments like these will help to house the thousands of people this investment has brought to the area.
Set across two buildings, the tallest tower reaches 123 metres and the smallest 57 metres, with the two being linked by a sophisticated double-height glazed reception area.

Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has started lightning protection works for a newly-constructed specialist school for autistic children and young adults in Essex.
The Group’s lightning protection teams are installing lightning protection systems at the National Autistic Society’s new school, constructed on the site of the former Tottenham Hotspur training ground. The state-of-the-art facility will have the capacity for 128 pupils, and will be a world-leading centre for special education.
PTSG has already carried out a risk assessment on site, and designed the school’s lightning protection system to ensure it provides the best possible protection according to the site’s design, which will open in 2017.
PTSG provides a wide range of services for a number of educational facilities, but is particularly proud to be working on the world’s first purpose-built school for children with autism, which affects one in 100 children in the UK.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC’s (PTSG) access and safety division has finished installing over a kilometre of mansafe systems at a large regeneration project in North London.
The regeneration of the former Grahame Park Estate in Colindale will see 3,000 new homes built and 1,000 existing homes refurbished. The project is designed to bring more affordable housing to the capital, and will also feature new shops and community facilities. The estate was originally built on the site of the old Hendon Aerodrome in the 1970s, and was marked by the Mayor of London as an area of intensification in the London Plan.
PTSG’s skilled engineers successfully completed the fourth phase of works on the project, bringing the total length of mansafe systems installed to 1,300 metres.

The Group’s access and safety division was contracted to install over 220 metres of mansafe systems, walkways, access stairs and handrails at the £20m development, which will provide community, culture and leisure facilities, all in one modern space.
The building incorporates a historic Grade B listed townhouse, which will be regenerated and used for cultural events and exhibitions as part of a larger plan to breathe new life into Irvine’s historic town centre.
PTSG leads the field for the installation of access and safety equipment, with vast expertise in installing abseil points, anchor devices and fall-proof covers as well as the fall arrest systems, ladders and walkways of the kind installed at this site.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has beaten stiff competition to retain its contract with Tube Lines to provide access and safety solutions at stations on the London Underground.
PTSG’s contract with Tube Lines stretches back to 2011. Since then, its access and safety operatives have successfully completed numerous projects at stations throughout the underground network. This has played a decisive part in the renewal of the contract for another four-plus-one years.
Tube Lines maintains, renews and upgrade more than 320km of track, 100 stations and a wealth of other infrastructure assets, focusing primarily on the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines – works which equate to 41 per cent of the entire Tube network.
PTSG’s contract renewal rate is now the highest it has ever been at 88%, which speaks of the satisfaction of its service amongst customers, and is central to the continued growth of the Group which now boasts 16 UK service centres.
Electrical engineers from Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) are currently engaged in a contract for PPG Industries UK, one of the leading names in the coatings industry.
The Group’s lightning protection division has deployed specialists to the client’s Stowmarket site, where they are upgrading the lightning protection system and static installation to the the bung and tanker loading areas, as well as the production plane. The project is expected to be completed towards the end of September.
Additional works have been scheduled for the near future, when PTSG’s engineers will extend and improve lightning protection systems throughout the site, and provide a surge protection package encompassing a number of different areas.
During the project, PTSG has employed its renowned collaborative working methods, building a strong working relationship with project managers and designers from PPG Industries UK in order to achieve success.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has been awarded a contract with Ofsted, for portable appliance testing (PAT) at all sites across the UK.
Ofsted is the government’s non-ministerial department for the inspection of educational establishments and services for children and young people. The new contract will see engineers from PTSG’s electrical services division carrying out electrical inspections nationwide for an initial two-year period.
