PTSG starts work on Aldgate Place for Barratt London

Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has commenced work on the Aldgate Place development for Barratt London.

Aldgate Place is a residential development consisting primarily of two similar high-rise blocks. Access will be provided by two methods: suspended platform and rope access. Rope access is the client’s preferred method for regular cleaning, but there is recognition for duties under CDMR and WAHR to also provide a collective means of access for more significant maintenance tasks.

The self-hoisting suspended platform used by PTSG’s Access and Safety division is capable of safely negotiating the two towers, which are nearly 100m high. It is suspended by a Noracon-supplied roof trolley system, which is mounted onto twin aluminium track system, with aluminium davit systems providing suspension of the platform below the terrace areas.

Implementation of the system has been particularly challenging due to the short amount of time between the agreement of the contract and the commencement of works on site, compounded by the fixed brackets having to miss a multitude of post-tensioned strands positioned within the concrete slabs. However, the cradle installation team, from PTSG’s Access and Safety division, expects to have completed the initial phase of the project by the end of 2015.

PTSG’s cradle install division secures a hat trick of contracts

Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has completed a hat trick of contract with Carillion.

The contracts were secured within the cradle install division of PTSG. The first two contracts were at Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Embankment Greengate in Manchester.

The most recent contract was won at the City Suites Project on Chapel Street, Manchester, where the team will be providing a 15-metre telescopic building maintenance unit.

PTSG cradle installs provide complete solutions for companies’ access requirements, from roof-mounted machines to rope access eyebolts, monorails to travelling gantries.

Negotiations are underway for further contracts within PTSG’s cradle install division, to complete a successful 2015 and prepare for a busy 2016.

PTSG to deliver vital work at new Forth Replacement Crossing

Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) is to deploy its Nottingham installation team in Queensferry, Scotland, to deliver vital lightning protection and earthing works to the new Forth Replacement Crossing.

This project is significant for PTSG both in terms of size and prestige, and will demand consistently excellent performance from the whole team well into 2016.

The new Forth Replacement Crossing is Scotland’s largest transport infrastructure project in a generation, which involves delivering a new bridge – the Queensferry Crossing – and upgrading the connecting road network on both sides of the Firth of Forth.

PTSG is delighted to be part of such an important project, which will ensure the future of a vital element of Scotland’s transport network.

New banking facilities agreed with HSBC PLC (“HSBC”)

New banking facilities agreed with HSBC PLC (“HSBC”)

£7,000,000 Revolving Credit Facility (“RCF”) and £2,500,000 overdraft facility

PTSG, the niche specialist services provider, is pleased to announce that it has entered into new banking facilities with HSBC.

The RCF is a committed £7.0m five year facility, which expires in September 2020 and replaces the Group’s existing term loan which was due to expire in September 2018.

Both new facilities are provided at a lower interest rate than the facilities being refinanced and covenant testing has been improved. Drawn amounts under RCF attract a variable margin over LIBOR, based on the Group’s Net Debt/EBITDA ratio. Undrawn amounts attract a commitment fee.

Paul Teasdale, CEO of PTSG, said:

“The new banking facilities strengthen our financial position, extend the Group’s debt maturities and refinance our existing Term Loan of £3m. The RCF will help underpin our strategy to generate significant shareholder value through organic growth and complementary acquisitions, whilst the increased overdraft facility from £1.25m to £2.5m gives PTSG greater working capital flexibility, as the business grows.

“We are delighted to continue working with HSBC and the terms of the new facilities reflect the bank’s ongoing confidence in the Group’s strategic prospects and credit quality.”

Co-operative lightning protection work

Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has been awarded a contract to upgrade the lightning protection system to CIS Tower, Manchester (head office for the Co-operative Bank).

The new package of work involves additional bonding at a roof level and the fitting of air terminals protecting vital air conditioning units on the roof. In addition, surge protection units are to be fitted on the three main incoming supply lines within the basement area which will protect vital data systems from potential transient over-voltages entering the structure on these lines. Furthermore, surge protection devices are to be fitted on the three distribution boards feeding the vital air conditioning units on the roof. This will prevent transients entering the building from potential direct strikes to equipment on the roof.

Paul Colley, Operations Director within PTSG’s Electrical Services Division, said: “We are really pleased to be given the opportunity to deliver this project on behalf of the Co-operative Bank. Our team is proficient at designing and installing lightning protection solutions and our growing portfolio is testament to their consistent quality and professionalism.”

PTSG reaches new heights in Flint

Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has been commissioned to deliver a project to replace the existing lightning protection system to Richards Heights in Flint.

The original lightning protection system was installed some 20 years ago with a mesh type system encased over the entire building with down conductors fitted at 10m centres and a full horizontal conductor fitted at a 20m level. However, Flintshire County Council has decided to carry out extensive concrete repairs prior to re-cladding and re-roofing the building. This requires the removal of the existing system and replacement of the down conductors ensuring that there are no joints behind the cladding which would remove any potential continuity issues in the future. In turn, this will save the local authority money in the future because it will not need to maintain the down conductors.

A new roof system is to be installed together with a surge protection device fitted on the main incoming supply. This will ensure that the new system conforms to the current standards which are very stringent in nature.

Richards Heights is managed by Flintshire County Council. It is a retirement/sheltered housing complex consisting of 84 flats.
