New Home for PTSG Electrical Services

Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG) has moved its Electrical Services Division into a new HQ in Nottingham. The new offices, in the city’s Sherwood Business Park, are now the business’ central hub for all UK and overseas electrical services activity.

A multi-award winning business, PTSG employs 130 people and specialises in supporting organisations that work at height. Access and safety, electrical services, high level cleaning and specialist M&E are PTSG’s core services. In 2013, the company won the premises and facilities management’s top award for partnership working with Tube Lines – maintaining access equipment of three of London’s busiest Tube Lines.

Andrew Dack, Managing Director of PTSG Electrical Services, said: “The Midlands, and Nottingham in particular, have always been a hotbed of activity for lightning protection companies with the vast majority being located in the area. PTSG Electrical Services is one of the biggest suppliers in the UK and we are delighted to have found such a great office for our relocation in Nottingham. We look forward to a long and successful operation in this fantastic location which is right at the heart of the UK – giving us better access to serve our customers nationwide.”

The official opening of the offices will be marked with a ribbon cutting by John Jolly, President of The Association of Technical Lighting and Access Specialist (Atlas), PTSG’s industry trade body.

John Jolly, said: “PTSG is a very strong business with some very ambitious plans for the future. The company’s growth is intrinsically linked with the great service it offers its customers and I am delighted and feel privileged to have been asked to formally open the company’s new Electrical Services HQ. I wish Andrew and his team every success for the future.”

Andrew Dack continued: “Atlas as a fantastic trade association and we are very grateful to John for giving up his time to be here today.”

PTSG Electrical Services’ HQ will be home to a team of 40 people from where they will serve thousands of existing customers, including: Motorola, the MOD, Doha International Airport, Nottingham Express Transit, Balfour Beatty and Network Rail.

Premises and Facilities Management Award for PTSG with Tube Lines

Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG) has received a national industry award for its premises and facilities management work in partnership with Tube Lines, now part of London Underground.

The companies won the top prize at the Premises and Facilities Management Awards 2013 in the Partners in Facilities Management (FM) category. The event took place at the Old Brewery in London on 06 November.

The organisations were jointly recognised for their collaborative approach to maintaining access and safety equipment, including eye bolts, monorails, ladders, lights, gantries, cradles and beams, on three of the four busiest tube lines in London.

The judges were said to be: ‘impressed with how the companies worked together to keep people safe and on the move on one of the busiest and most complex rail networks in the world’.

The news follows last week’s announcement by the Yorkshire Post, where PTSG won the top award in Yorkshire for businesses with a turnover between £10m and £50m.

PTSG CEO, Paul Teasdale, said: “What an incredible week. First the Yorkshire Post Business Awards acknowledged our growth and strength as a business and our ambitious plans for the future. Now the industry has recognised us for the standard of service we deliver. It’s testament to the hard work and determination of my whole team, who put all of their work-life efforts into delivering outstanding customer service. These awards are down to them.

“I would also like to pay tribute to Simon Pateman, Jonathan MacGillivray and the wider team at Tube Lines. They put their trust in us and together we have been able to deliver consistently well for Transport for London and the travelling public. We have many similar examples of collaborative working arrangements with other customers; however, it is fantastic that this very special relationship has been recognised on a national stage.”

Simon Pateman, Stations Manager at Tube Lines, said: “This is a great result. We have a very strong relationship with PTSG, which is reflected in our ‘light touch’ audit approach. There is complete trust between us and to all intents and purposes we are ‘as one’ in all that we do. We see PTSG as an extension to our team. We deliver consistently well and we grow stronger by the day together. Consequently we innovate and create greater value, which is very different from the traditional customer, contractor relationship.”

Both organisations feel that this is a special relationship – one that is based on mutual respect and trust which makes a hugely positive difference to both businesses. It is described as the perfect partnership by senior executives, contract managers and the team who work collaboratively on the ground.

PTSG was shortlisted in the same category in 2012 for its work with M&S.

PTSG: The best in Yorkshire!

Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG) has been crowned as a leading Yorkshire business at a prestigious awards ceremony.

The company was named as Business of the Year in the £10m to £50m turnover category at the Yorkshire Post’s Excellence in Business Awards – the region’s most highly sought after business prize.

The award was given to Chief Executive Officer Paul Teasdale and Chairman John Foley at the glitzy ceremony at the Queens Hotel in Leeds last night (31 October 2013).

Hosted by the BBC Match of the Day’s Dan Walker, the ceremony brought together the best in business from across the entire Yorkshire region.

Despite stiff competition, PTSG wowed the judges with its insatiable and unrelenting growth, plus the significant investment of time and money in streamlining business processes and procedures.

It was described as an unbelievable business, demonstrating traits of much larger, multi-million pound conglomerates which occupy the top spots in the global trading markets.

The judges said: “We are very impressed with PTSG’s growth and how they have used technology to drive the business forward. PTSG’s approach is more akin to a company that you would expect to see listed on the Stock Exchange.”

The hard-fought category of companies with a turnover between £10m-£50m, sponsored by PwC, saw PTSG – which was formed in 2007 – competing against an 80-year-old power solutions firm from Scarborough and international supplier of corrugated packaging from Wetherby.

Paul Teasdale said: “A lot of people have worked incredibly hard to get us to this point, and we are only part-way through a longer plan which will see growth continue across the coming years.

“I’d like to thank the judges for recognising the hard work that every single employee of the business puts in every day, without the team of people who get what it is we are trying to achieve, none of the success we have had would have been possible.

“It was a fantastic event and I’d like to congratulate the businesses we were up against and all the others who were shortlisted or won.”

The Yorkshire Post confirmed that they received more award submissions this year than at any time before, with hundreds of Yorkshire-based organisations taking the time to enter.
